Frequently Asked Questions
Do you pull permits for every job?
We pull permits whenever a project requires one. Not every roofing project needs a permit, but every job we do meets IBC and IRC code standards. We never cut that corner.

Can my roof be repaired?
In most cases, yes. Roof repair is the right path when damage is isolated to a specific area — a missing shingle section, a failing flashing detail, a pipe boot leak, or wind damage in one part of the roof. Repair becomes harder to justify when the roof is near the end of its useful life, when damage is widespread, or when the existing materials are no longer available in matching colors. After an inspection, we'll give you a straight answer on whether repair makes sense — and tell you when replacement is actually the better investment.

Do you only do roofs, or what other exterior work do you offer?
KCX is a full-exterior contractor, though roofing is our specialty. We also handle siding (vinyl, fiber cement, LP SmartSide), gutters and downspouts, gutter guards, soffit and fascia, windows, and skylights. If a project involves more than one trade — say, a storm claim that includes roof, gutters, and siding — we coordinate the full scope so you're not managing multiple contractors. Whatever exterior work you need, we can either handle it directly or tell you upfront if it's outside our scope.
Do you offer financing options?
Can you match siding or shingle colors on a partial replacement?

Do you handle storm-damage claims for siding and windows too?
Are roof inspections free?
Yes. KCX provides free roof inspections across the Kansas City metro — including photo documentation and a written summary of any damage found. No obligation to move forward. If we find storm damage, we'll walk you through what the next steps look like; if we don't, we'll tell you that too.
