Storm & Hail Damage Roof Repair in Kansas City
It's important to accurately identify what's hail damage and what's not, since a lot of damage to roofs can actually be from age or installation defects.
Here's some signs that a storm could be responsible for damage:
Shingle granules collecting in gutters or at the bottom of downspouts
Dents in gutters, downspouts, or metal vents (called 'collateral evidence')
Missing, creased, or lifted shingles
Dented or cracked siding and window trim
New water stains on a ceiling
Many hail hits can only be seen up close. If your neighbors are getting new roofs, it’s worth a look.

Hail damage to shingle. This was on a roof in Parkville.

Not every storm damaged roof has the same protocol. These are the main damages below we see. Hail usually hits more than the roof. We also repair storm-damaged siding and gutters.
Hail Damage Roof Repair
Hail bruises shingles and knocks the granules off that protect them. We document with photos and repair or replace what's damaged.
Roof Repair for Storm & Wind Damage
High wind lifts, creases, and tears shingles and loosens flashing. Missing shingles get replaced, loose ones get resealed down.
Emergency Roof Tarping
If your roof is open after a storm, we'll tarp it to keep water out until it can be repaired. 2x4's get bolted down to prevent wind driven rain intrusion inside.
Working with Your Insurance
If there's damage, you file the claim with your insurance company. We give you a full photo report to send them and I'll meet your adjuster at the house to walk the roof together. If there's no damage, I'll tell you that too. A lot of the roofs I inspect don't need a claim.
Disclaimer: We are not public adjusters, and cannot interpret policy language or negotiate on your behalf. What we can do is show up as roofing professionals and document damage we're seeing.
